Shiatsu and creativity

My shiatsu practice is supported by things I do creatively! Recently, I have been working with a friend who is training in a particular kind of movement practice. We have been dancing outside. It's a lovely contrast to all the end of term things I am doing for the Shiatsu College, and the marketing I have been involved in recently!

Here is a poem I wrote after our last session.

We’re not

                capturing great footage;

checking the eyeline, the audience position, the camera;

adjusting the orientation of the demonstration.

We’re not

                ensuring we cover the learning outcomes;

analysing diagnostic frameworks;

assessing suitable barometers of change.

enter the great green sweep of the garden –

small, contained, between houses and the space

where an ash once lived –

move this bee to a purple flower –

circle, wide blue above,

embrace warmth,

accept

while meanings layer –

pain, scrutiny, heart-drop

toe plant

symmetry

symmetry of the whole body,

a whole body,

knees, head, arms wide under the shelter

shelter

comfort

back, knees, spine rise, with the neck and length within the brain-case

amplify range, whole body, strength, position

consciousness

yearn for swift’s simplicity

cool moss grass, warm moss grass

rose fragrance, white climbers can be patted bouffant,

friendly arms, friendly hands

mint moustache

(or lemon balm)

drop leaves

stomp leaves

play

leaf-catch toe-curl, toe-throw

mint plaster, balm plaster

great sweep of bird voices, green circle, blue circle

all around
